How beautiful it is to read. Especially now, as the first cold days approach. The sofa, the blanket, a nice cup of hot tea and a good book. In today’s blog I want to suggest for you some autumn reading: some motivational, some frivolous and some for personal growth. All of which I hope can teach you something.
The very first book I want to mention is “Un posto nel mondo” – “A place in the world” by Fabio Volo.
A book written in 2006, which I read in 2012 but which I willingly read again and again.
An easy, smooth, fun and exciting book. A novel that pushes us to make our dreams come true. Even those that we have abandoned in a drawer because of the daily routine, which I believe we have all experienced at least once in our lives and which diverts our attention from the things that make us truly happy. So, if you are looking for a book that gives you motivation and the right energy to find or regain your courage, you have found it in “A place in the world”. I read it in a particular period of my life and it pushed me to seek new horizons.
My favourite phrase: [..] Our dreams need to know that we are brave.
The second book that I recommend and that will help you with your personal growth is: “Think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill.
This inspiring book was written in 1937 but still remains super current reading. I recommend you introduce yourself to this book with consciousness and awareness Although it is an easy-to-read book, it requires commitment.
I read it in electronic format, highlighting several interesting phrases. The phrase that made me think and at the same time gave me hope is:
[..] The economic collapse has reduced everyone to the same level. A new race is about to start. The stakes are immense fortunes that will be accumulated over the next ten years. The house rules have changed as we now live in a changed world. This changed world needs positive dreamers. Positive dreamers have always been and always will be the modelers of civilization. […]
We live in a society changed by this pandemic that has brought us to our knees and has seen us stagger, but now we are ready to start again with more energy than before. Now a new race is about to start with new rules and the stakes are high. So let the brave come forward. This new world needs positive dreamers ready to shape this changed society.
Another book to be read with desire and an interest to learn is “Tecniche di vendita Venditore di successo”- “Sales techniques, a successful seller” by Antonio Costanzo.
This is a book that helps us understand how important it is to know how to sell. Not just the classic product or service that we all expect, but also our knowledge and our ideas. Every day we “sell”, we promote ourselves and knowing how to do it in the right way will bring us great advantages.
This book also teaches us – always in a practical way – to maintain focus and organisation in everyday life, to learn to understand the “no” that is put in front of us. To accept them and change them into a “yes” whenever possible.
Another book, which I couldn’t not mention among the those that will keep you company during these first cold days is: “Un amore made in Japan”-“A love made in Japan” by Valentina Miglioranza.
Valentina was a former schoolmate of mine. We met during the middle school years and we’ve remained great friends. She recently wrote this book where she brings together her two greatest passions: archaeology and Japan. In this novel, ironic and engaging, she creates a bridge between the Italian and Japanese cultures. A book that will make you turn off the light before going to bed with a smile. Also, in this book we understand the courage we must have when we decide to take our dreams in hand and make them come true. A book that captured my heart.
These are my favourite autumn reading: motivational, frivolous and personal growth. I truly hope you can find the right one perfect for you.
