There are different ways of being minimalist everyone finds their own.
There is the minimalist who becomes extremist and says goodbye to the bed where to sleep or table where to eat. There is the minimalist who comes closest to meditation, there are those who say goodbye to colours and those who do not.
The beauty of being minimalist is that there are no fixed rules. Everyone is free to adopt the minimalist style that best suits their personality.
However, there are things that a true minimalist doesn’t do.
I want to list the 10 things that a true minimalist who has taken this path with infinite depth would never do, at least from my point of view.
1) Exasperate others with your point of view
Even if we are enthusiastic about our choice and want to communicate it to the whole world because we want to help others to be happy and satisfied like us, we do not exasperate them.
We understand that each person is in a different phase of their life and we respect that whenever that person feels ready to become a minimalist, we will be there to give advice.
We want to be an example we don’t want to be preachers.
2) Go shopping for no reason
A true minimalist doesn’t go shopping for no reason because he or she is bored. A true minimalist only goes shopping if he really needs something and only after analysing whether “that thing” is a whim or a necessity.
3) Feeling guilty about spending money unnecessarily
The true minimalist spends on quality products and invests in products that last over time. Be careful not to confuse a minimalist with a miser there is a big difference.
4) Buy products with packaging
The true minimalist cares about the environment around him. It is concerned with buying products that do not generate waste and that do not pollute the environment. Loves living in harmony with the environment by choosing natural products without packaging or with sustainable packaging.
5) Pay attention to aesthetics
Straight lines, open spaces, minimal objects, light colours. What is the point of all this if a real and profound interior change has not been made yet? The true minimalist is focused on the inner path rather than on the aesthetic and external aspects.
6) Respect others things
I must confess, not a few times I have been tempted to throw away some of my boyfriend’s things because they are not in line with my minimalist lifestyle. HOWEVER, I HAVE NEVER DONE IT!
Respecting the objects of others is essential, you must stop in time without wasting energy and unnecessary attention to the things of others.
7) Separation of things
The true minimalist knows when it’s time to say goodbye to something.
The true minimalist understands and values the path that has been taken to get where he or she is now. The true minimalist understands the value of time and knows how to respect it. If, the minimalist, doesn’t feel ready to get rid of something material, he takes his time, reflects and respects his emotions. The separation from something material must be done following one’s path and at the right time; it is the prerogative of the minimalist to understand when that moment has come.
8) Thinking to be better than others
The true minimalist does not think to be better than others, on the contrary, he respects other people’s habits, opinions and thoughts.
The true minimalist is in harmony and at peace with himself and with others.
9) Accumulate things at home or in the office
The true minimalist values the concept of order and puts it into practice. Avoid piling up items you don’t need at home or in the office. It maintains an external order as a mirror of the internal order.
10) Piling up useless Apps on your phone
The true minimalist also keeps his phone in order. He is also essential in producing notification noises and only keeps active the Apps he use.
