We would like to start polluting less. Some people are curious to start using Zero Waste products. Others, want to be more attentive to the environmental impact. But, where to start? In this blog, I will describe 8 must product for your minimal bathroom that could inspire you and be the starting point for you on a path towards sustainability.
Here below you will find the list with the 8 must products for your minimal bathroom. Those are the products that I use regularly, I hope they can lead you to take those small steps towards a new journey made of daily choices in harmony with the environment.
1) Bamboo toothbrush
It is a product that I love, the one I chose I bought on Amazon. Comes in a recyclable cardboard package and inside there are 4 individually wrapped toothbrushes, each with biodegradable bristles. The handle is made of bamboo 100% recyclable and the bristles are very soft, perfect if you have sensitive gums like mine. An eco-friendly and organic, product created entirely with respect for the environment. (See the product)
2) Toothpaste powder
Another product that I am in love with is a toothpaste from georganics. I actually tried two different types: one in powder and one in the classic paste format. The packaging is recycled cardboard inside which there is a recycled glass jar with an aluminium cap. All the resources used to make both the packaging and the toothpaste itself are organic nothing is tested on animals, so they are products made in an ethical and vegan way. Guess what I do with the jar once finished? I reuse it in the kitchen to store dried fruit! I love both of them, I really wouldn’t know which one to recommend!
3) Mouthwash
Since I discovered it, I can’t live without this mouthwash from Georganics! The packaging is made of recycled cardboard, the jar is made of glass with an aluminium cap, inside there are 180 tablets to be dissolved in water, 20 ml of water per tablet. Perfect also to simplifies boarding checks. The product, as in the case of toothpaste, is made sustainably and ethically.
4) Solid shampoo
Another, that is part of the 8 must product for your sustainable bathroom is the solid shampoo. I have tried different types; I can guarantee they work. They leave hair soft and silky and create volume. I am aware that these products may be more expensive than those you buy at the supermarket, but I assure you that they last 2 or 3 times longer. Furthermore, fundamentally, they help reducing plastic, I go to throw out the garbage a lot less, I noticed a clear difference. I use this one made with nettle.
5) Solid conditioner
What a find, it’s great! I love the natural perfume of spices, lemon, rosemary. (See the product I use).
6) Solid soap
Another thing I have rediscovered is solid soap. If I look back, I remember those wonderful solid soaps we used to bathe when we were little. Over the years they have been disappearing, replaced by plastic bottles with liquid soap. I went back to using solid soap when a dear friend of mine gave me a fabulous bar of goat soap for my birthday! I had never tried it and totally felt in love with it. Again, the product is not tested on animals.
7) The stone
I have been using the stone deodorant since 2014 and I can assure you that it works perfectly. I have talked about it to several friends who have asked me the same question: “Does it work?”, “Is it really effective?”. The answer is yes, it is! Of course, it should not be passed quickly like supermarket deodorants, but it must be passed several times for a little longer. I have chosen to use this type of deodorant because is not made with parabens, antiperspirants, aluminium and is without toxic and harmful substances for the skin and health.
8) Face cream
I have long since abandoned all the face creams stored in plastic containers you find at supermarkets or perfumery. My choice for face cream falls on the products from Lush. I use banana cream which smells delicious to me.
These are my 8 must products for your minimal bathroom. A bathroom is a place where I like to breathe an atmosphere of cleanliness in the most complete sense, to have free surfaces without accumulating too many products. I kept visible my essential products. Products that I am in love with!
